In the Northwest, our water temperature ranges from 47° - 59° F (8.3° - 15° C). The go-to glove thickness for most surfers is 1.5mm to 3mm. For most people, this is ideal, and a good set of lightweight gloves will keep your hands plenty warm. The thicker you go, the less grip you have on your board. Unless you’re spending a lot of time submerged in cold water, consider going with a little less thickness for your surf glove. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us directly.
