Spring Break is largely a vacation for those still in school...not yet in the "real world". But there's no reason that all of us can't take part in it at least a little bit. This spring break week I'm reminiscing a little bit about one of those epic trips that I took 6 years ago.
It was a great adventure. A friend of mine and I got dropped off by boat to an area not so dissimilar to Pacific City, only with some very distinct differences. One of the spots had the look of the cove in PC. Only it was what we wish the cove could be like more often with a peeling river mouth cobblestone point. And the other spot even had a huge rock out the back to really bring the PC feel to the place. Strong off shores, solid swell, sunshine, gourmet meals of peanut butter and crackers, definitely not enough fresh water, and a delirious dehydrated hike out of the national park to take a bus back to town all made for one of the most memorable spring break times that I've had. I've grown older and wiser since then, as many of us have, but that doesn't mean we can't still have some fun in a different way.
Oregon is doing it's best this year to bring Spring Break conditions to the coast. Springtime is in full effect (and not in the typical rainy Oregon way). It looks like a weekend of great weather and fun swell is ahead. Come have your own adventure out here!
