Our fifth featured shaper for the Inaugural Coastal Craft Event is Travis Yamada, from Cubicle Surfboards. Travis resides in Bend, Oregon, where he shapes and glasses a unique variety of boards for rivers and the ocean! Get to know Travis a little better below, and come watch him shape a river board in person on September 15th!
Coastal Craft: Where did you get your start and why?
Travis Yamada: I got my start in the professional industry at a little repair shop in San Diego called joe ropers ding repair and custom fiberglass. Then onto many other factories in the San Diego and Santa Barbara regions.
CC: Where are your board shaped and sold?
TY: Boards are built in Bend. Most are sold in Bend, Oregon coast, Boise, and a little in California and Montana.

CC: What draws you to this event?
TY: Jeff Mollencop and a good excuse to get out of the shop and be at the beach.
CC: What do you want visitors to take away from this event?
TY: A little dusty inspiration and a hangover.
