The "Average Joe" model transformed many average joe surfer's lives. From struggling to surf crappy waves on chippy shortboards, to catching waves with ease and actually enjoying their time in the water, the board spurred a low-performance revolution among surfers with no WSL aspirations. Fast forward to now, the "Ultra Joe" is a "performance" version of that same board. Still meant to catch waves with ease and be super user friendly, this board will allow you to step up your surfing game a little more, or for the above average surfer, it offers a super fun step down, small wave board that you can still rip!

A few years back, we built the Average Joe to be a fun, simple, easy-to-ride board and it became one of our top sellers. For 2019, after rounds of customer feedback and team testing, we’ve created a souped-up, sleeker version…the Ultra Joe.
The Ultra Joe boasts foiled rails, a double-bump squash tail, narrower nose with an updated rocker profile, and additional exit rocker. The result is a progressive step forward for beginner/intermediate surfers while at the same time is an inviting step down for average to good surfers seeking something fun and cruisy on the smaller, weaker days.
