Moment is honored to partner with South Tillamook Country Library to present the 1978 iconic surf movie, Big Wednesday. "Big Wednesday is a classic coming of age film set in the 60-70s California surf culture," explains Sally Moon, local surfer and the Tillamook County Library Assistant who is trying to make surf movie night a regular occurrence at the library.
Along with the movie, raffle tickets will be sold to benefit local waterman Gary Gregg. Gary is battling a rare form of brain cancer and therefore is unable to work his normal job as a surf instructor at Moment. Gary has not only been a prominent fixture in the Pacific City surfing community, but is a well-known and respected surfer throughout the Pacific Northwest. Teaching surfing and passing on the stoke, especially to kids, has brought Gary and the greater Pacific City community incredible value.
Raffle items include wetsuits from Quiksilver, Xcel, and O’Neill, Moment gear, Twist Wine Company, a treatment from local acupuncturist, Liz Vitale, and a gift certificate from Silas Wines.
The event will be held 7/23/19 at 6pm at the South Tillamook County Library in Pacific City.
