One of the best ways to explore the flat water waterways of Oregon is on a standup paddleboard. It provides amazing exercise, a healthy test of balance, and it gives you a completely different perspective than you would ever get in a kayak or canoe. To put it simply, it's just plain fun.
If you don't quite feel comfortable renting one on your own to learn by trial and error, we have fun and educational camps coming up that will help you to learn from qualified instructors. Lessons are very important, especially if you aren't very comfortable on a board, or if you plan on taking the board out into the lineup at some point.
The camp includes equipment rental, multiple lessons, lunch both days, and a thorough tour of the local river. All of this is just $300, and we can help you figure out accommodations at a reasonable price.
We will also be offering yoga for an additional $10 following the river tour on the second day. It will be in the conference room of the Inn at Cape Kiwanda which has an unbelievable view of the ocean. Your instructor will be Ericka Anntionette (RYT, CPT, CPI). For additional questions about the yoga class please email Ericka at healthbyericka@gmail.com
There are several different sessions in June, July, and August to fit your schedule.
Please see the attached flier for more information, and feel free to give us a call at the shop with any questions you may have.
Here's a link to a video of some flat water paddle boarding fun. This was filmed during the production of Mikey Detemple's surf movie, Sight/Sound. Please don't try this!
