This is a little late notice, but the Clean Water Classic surf contest sponsored by the Surfrider Foundation is this weekend, May 17th - 19th, 2013.
It's up the coast a bit in Westport, WA, and it should be a great time. The event will raise money for Pacific NW branches of Surfrider to help protect our beaches, and another non-profit called Warm Current will be there to put on a surf camp for kids. Their mission is to teach, inspire, and support underserved communities and youth through surfing.
There are divisions for lots of different groups... Men's and women's pro/am, juniors, masters, Longboard, SUP... There's even a keiki and parent division that's free to enter! It's $50 for the pro/am divisions and $35 for the others.
There will be a few spots open for registration at the event, so it's not too late to enter. And it looks like there will be some fun sized swell too!
