Coastal Craft: Where did you get your start and why?

Travis Yamada: I got my start in the professional industry at a little repair shop in San Diego called joe ropers ding repair and custom fiberglass. Then onto many other factories in the San Diego and Santa Barbara regions.

CC: Where are your board shaped and sold?

TY: Boards are built in Bend. Most are sold in Bend, Oregon coast, Boise, and a little in California and Montana.

CC: What's your go to board to shape and surf in the PNW?

TY: Most popular:

  • River- No-Bite
  • Ocean- Trekkie

Personal favorites:

  • River- Arrowhead 2.0

CC: What draws you to this event?

TY: Jeff Mollencop and a good excuse to get out of the shop and be at the beach.

CC: What do you want visitors to take away from this event?

TY: A little dusty inspiration and a hangover.
